Eucalyptus patens - Yarri
Eucalyptus patens (Yarri or Blackbutt)
Eucalyptus patens is a tall forest tree endemic to south-west Western Australia, recognised for its straight trunk, rough fibrous bark at the base, and smoother pale bark above. It provides substantial shade, vertical structure, and long-term ecological value in planted landscapes.
Blackbutt tolerates heavier and seasonally wet soils and performs well in a wide range of settings. It is well suited to larger properties, street tree plantings, urban canopy projects, and rural settings, where its mature size can be accommodated.
