Kunzea pulchella (Granite Kunzea)
Kunzea pulchella (Granite Kunzea)
Kunzea pulchella is a low, spreading shrub endemic to south-west Western Australia, naturally associated with granite outcrops and rocky substrates. It is valued for its fine foliage, ground-hugging habit, and profuse pink to mauve flowers.
Flowering occurs mainly in spring, when the plant becomes covered in small blooms that create a soft, colourful display and attract insects. Outside of flowering, its dense, matting form provides year-round structure at a low scale.
Granite Kunzea is well adapted to free-draining soils and performs reliably once established. Its restrained height and spreading habit make it suitable for use as a groundcover, edging plant, or low feature in garden settings.
